Shizue “Granny” “Mom” (Sakuda) Oshiro, 90, of Kalopa Makai, Paauilo, and Palm Springs, Calif., died Feb. 23 at home in Kalopa. Yoshimi Horie Uyeda, 96, of Waimea died March 12 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born at Puuoo Ranch in Hilo, she was retired from the former Kamuela Vegetable Stand and a member of Kohala Koboji Mission, Kamuela American Japanese Civic Club and Kamuela Senior Citizens.
